| Role | Scope | Typical responsibilities |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Entire company | Company oversight, ownership transfer, deletion, and owner-only scheduling approvals. |
| Admin | Company administration | People, branches, attendance policies, devices, reports and routine company setup. Owner-only actions remain restricted. |
| Manager | Assigned active branches | Employee scheduling, branch attendance and leave. Cannot grant themselves branch access or change their own schedule. |
| Employee | Own work records | View their schedule, clock in and out on a phone, and review personal attendance. |
A clock-in branch is different from management access
A person’s clock-in branch tells Hooteyes where their own regular work takes place. Manager access tells Hooteyes which branches they may oversee. Promoting someone to manager does not automatically give them access to every branch.
An owner or admin must select the manager’s branches in Manager access. The manager’s own attendance branch and policy are assigned separately.
Owners are not attendance staff
Owners do not appear in ordinary staff setup, operational attendance lists or device approval queues. They do not clock in. If someone becomes an owner, their earlier attendance remains available in historical reports.
Ownership transfer is a distinct action. The outgoing owner becomes an employee and loses management access immediately. Read the ownership-transfer guide before using it.
If a page is missing
Check the company selected in the profile menu.
Confirm your current role with the owner or admin.
Managers: ask an owner or admin to check Manager access and whether the branch is active.
Refresh after a confirmed access change. If the action is still unavailable, report the page name and message to your company administrator.
